Set nice fixed social buttons on right side.

This plugin will add fixed social buttons on top right side :
twitter, facebook, myspace, reddit, delicious, technorati, digg, linkedin, flickr and rss feed buttons.

Features :

  • Choose beetween 3 button styles.
  • Show button on top or bottom.
  • You can also hide some buttons.
  • Open social bookmarks links in a new or in the same window
  • Set with « rel=’nofollow' » attribute or not on social bookmarks
  • You can show easy buttons in horizontal or vertical axe.

1. Extract in the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to **Settings** and then **Easy Buttons** to configure the plugin.

Buttons don’t appear

Since version, your wordpress theme must have the

<?php wp_footer(); ?> function in the file footer.php
Most of themes already call this function. If not, buttons don’t appear : you have to insert it yourself.
How to insert this function?
Edit the footer.php file here : /wp-admin/theme-editor.php
and insert <?php wp_footer(); ?> before </body>

If you download the zip file

If the zip file is named « » (because of file version), you have to rename it « » before extracting it in order to have the plugin directory named « fixed-social-buttons ».
You can ask support in english or french leaving comments on this page

== Changelog ==

    I love this plugin, very useful and something I’ve been waiting for a long time.

    I need help in making the vertical top function to lower just a few px. How would you do this?

    Thank you.

    Hi there, first of all, we LOVE your plugin. May we suggest three improvements? 1) Facebook needs to have two buttons – one for Sharing and another for Joining as a fan. 2) There should be an option to make the list of buttons bigger too. 3) The ability to reorder the buttons would be really nice. Thank you!!!! You rock!!!!!

    As a lot of people are led to my home page rather than to a post’s page, I think an option to add these buttons to the bottom of each post would be nice and not having to know code to do it. Also, I could not find the ability to create an optional message that would be added when a person hits the share button. This would be a nice option. I did not see FriendFeed either.

    As a reader can hit the share button and it not go to the exact post’s page, if hit from the homepage, is why I have currently taken this plug in out. People that read the first post on my homepage thought they were sharing that post, but if I added a new post the people would not be taken to that original post, instead they would see a new post on my homepage. Please advice if I am missing anything here. PS: I do not know code!

    PS With all the possibilities for buttons and the requests you’re getting, it’ll probably need a scroller before long! I love this plugin, it’s a standard on all my blogs. One of the first things I install after the comments/texteditors ;-p Any plans on possibly making it where users can add their own buttons so you don’t have to?

    Hi, is it possible to hide the social buttons or change it’s position in wptouch for iphone rendering? At top right it is overlapping some crucial function of the mobile theme and I would like to correct this.

    Hi, just found the solution! 😀

    At the WPtouch setup, check “Enable WPtouch Restricted Mode”.
    This will disable any other plugins. Worked for me :)

    Simple suggestion, add examples to the profile options. I was typing in the entire URL and hence getting an error. Though yours is simpler its not the wp standard. Also give an option to go to all the site profiles such as LinkedIn profile instead of just sharing the page on LinkedIn. BTW LI isn’t working for me at all but that’s not my focus so no biggie.

    I have installed and activated Fixed Social Plugin. Absolutely love it, but I’m having a bit of an issue with Twitter. I have entered my Twitter URL on the settings page. However, when Twitter is selected, it is directed to a page that says « Sorry that page doesn’t exist », but selecting « home » on that same page will direct to my Twitter page. I’m a novice- please tell me what I’m doing wrong.

    AWESOME plugin. Question: I typed in my twitter name, but now I want to allow users to click on that button and go to their own twitter to share. But the page will not save my changes after I erase my twitter name. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Loane : try to insert a blank in the twitter line

    @ igg and dtbsz
    Same thing happened to me…so, I had to manually delete the plugin folder from within my cpanel then uploaded the latest version from this page using the my WordPress Admin .zip plugin uploader and the buttons showed up again.

    I tried some of the bookmarking plugins but most of them don’t match my theme. Thanks that this bookmarking plugin works well

    Thanks for sharing it. I would recommend this to all my readers.
